The cenotes are in the jungle and the water is slightly cooler, as it is often out of the sunlight. I dived with a 3mm long and only felt chilly at the end of one hour long cenote dive. If you get cold very easily you may want to take an extra layer like a rash vest or sharkskin top to wear in addition, you could also consider gloves and a hood or a scap.
I suffer very badly from mosquito bites but I was able to protect myself well with a strong Anti- mozzie spray which I wore from sundown and also during the day trips to the cenotes. Extra supplies can be purchased locally in pharmacies.
